Two social issues I am very passionate about is racism and mental health issues. As a black person living in America, there has multiply experiences where I have delt with colorist/racist comments, racially profiled and in general I have been judge just based off my skin color. I am very passionate about mental health issues because I feel like it’s something that has not been acknowledge enough. Through the past years, it has finally got the reputation it deserves but some people are still very ignorant on the topic.
Mental Health issues are real and people suffer from mental health issues everyday and they don’t even know.
I believe that just because a school…
I'm passionate about addressing gun violence because it poses a significant threat to public safety and leads to unnecessary loss of lives. Implementing sensible gun control measures and promoting responsible firearm ownership are crucial steps to mitigate this issue.
Limiting what students learn in school through book bans and curriculum restrictions is counterproductive. It hinders critical thinking and a well-rounded education. Open dialogue and exposure to diverse perspectives better prepare students for the complexities of the real world.
Critical Race Theory is an academic framework that examines how systemic racism is embedded in societal structures. Some states are banning it, arguing it promotes divisive ideologies. However, understanding CRT fosters a nuanced comprehension of historical and contemporary racial dynamics, contributing to…
Kimberly Acevedo Ramirez a social issue that I’m am most passionate about is mental health awarenes. I feel that a lot of people don’t realize how important mental illness can really be. Unfortunately, in some cases mental illness is often seen as a joke and I can be seen and listen platforms like social media in school classrooms and even in our own homes surprisingly that someone from mental illness is the young. This is very unfortunate because we were young shouldn’t have to deal with this stuff at such an early age to add on and some places they lack emotional support. This makes it hard because somebody that is something illness. Doesn’t have anybody to guide them or…

The social issue that I thought about is gun violence. I chose this because there've been a lot of things happening around my school area earlier this year with schools just right down the block and students right around the area.
I don’t think schools should limit what students should learn. If anything , they should be entitled to learn more than what we already do and have a choice to also choose. Because why limit things we students might need in the future, things that will help socially, mentally, and physically. We as students need better mind sets to help our future self.
What is critical race theory, critical race theory is a set of ideas holding…
Aniyah Findlay Thomas A social issue I'm very passionate about would be animal rights. As someone who wants to be a veterinarian and loves animals, I believe that animals should be treated with the same love and respect that humans have. They shouldn't be mistreated or harmed. I feel like schools shouldn't limit what students learn in school because it opens up the student's brains to things that they may need later in life. They should be given every possible option to further their education. Even if the topics that are being taught are controversial or anything, I believe they should still teach the topics because it may be beneficial in the future to the students. Critical race theory is…
