In this workshop we learned about the different levels of identity and how we see them in our everyday lives. We learn about the concept of identity and the stages that we go through until we find our own identity. These include identity diffusion, identity foreclosure, identity moratorium, and identity achievement. We also learn the concept of critical consciousness and how it is very important in our developmental stages, as we are all going through it. In the recording, there was an example of the difference between equality and equity presented in an image. Equality refers to treating everyone the same, while equity involves ensuring that everyone has access to the same opportunities, considering individual needs and circumstances. It's about fairness and justice in differentiating resources and support to address diverse needs. I was also exposed to different reasons as to why identity matters. From this video I learned of three different types of critical consciousness. The types of critical consciousness includes: Critical Actions, Political Efficacy and Critical Reflection. I also learnt about social identity. Understanding your social identity is important because it helps you understand who you are. It also allows you to empathize with those around you from different cultural backgrounds. Through the use of critical consciousness you are able to strengthen your social identity.

According to the video I learned that there are 3 different kinds of critical consciousness, which are critical reflection, political efficacy, and critical actions. All three of these aspects are greatly important. Amongst young adolescent's especially teenagers who are still figuring out their identity and be accustomed to themselves therefore it is crucial that you respect and comprehend who you would like to become. Those early adult's years are the most difficult as many are figuring out how to express themselves.

In the video, they talked about these three elements of critical consciousness - critical reflection, political efficacy, and critical actions. Also, they got into the whole thing about different statuses that teenagers go through because, you know, we're all trying to figure out who we are at this age. It's super important to embrace your identity and really know yourself. They mentioned how us teens express ourselves through our clothes, and it's a legit way to show who we are. Plus, understanding our own identity helps us get where others are coming from with theirs.
